Carving Pumpkins

We love our pumpkin carving tradition! I was sorely disappointed when the boys didn't play in the guts this year though. Morgan attempted and was whining within 30 seconds.  Teagan wouldn't even attempt and just kept saying "I hate guts."  Unfortunately it has stuck with him so if he tells you he hates guts, he doesn't mean your guts, he means pumpkin guts, so don't take it personally.

Trick or Treat

The boys loved Trunk or Treating and Trick or Treating.  And they especially loved getting all the candy (and yes, I'm one of those terrible mothers that is letting them eat it all. I can't believe how many mothers I heard this year worrying about how much candy their kids would get and what they should do with it.  It's just candy people, not poison).  We had lots of fun.

Halloween Train

There is a neighborhood in Lindon that apparently puts on a Halloween train and Christmas train every year and the best part..it's FREE.  It was quite a production and I was thoroughly impressed.  Can't wait till the kids are old enough to go after dark when the scarers come out.

Fall Fun

We took the kids to Hee Haw Farms this year.  Derek and Rachel came with us.  The maze was pretty stupid.  We couldn't find our way out and the boys were whining about being thirsty (note to self, bring backpack full of supplies next year) so we just went back to the beginning.  I went and asked an employee where the exit was on the map and she said you come out the same place you go in.  So pretty much, you go in and wander around in circles and come back out again.  So lame!!!  Next year we'll be going through a maze that has an actual path from point A to point B.  It was my first time in a corn maze in the daytime so that was new.  I have to say I like the dark and haunted mazes better but I guess that will have to wait a few more years.  In addition to the maze, they also have a bunch of other activities so it was a pretty fun day.  And Morgan loved being able to pick out his own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch (which I must say was somewhat pathetic, but whatever).

Morgan's first primary talk

Morgan gave his first primary talk in October. I perused the Internet for some clip art to use for visual aids but I didn't like any of it.  So we took pictures of Morgan and printed some 5x7s instead. I thought it was important that he write his own talk so we sat down and I asked him a bunch of questions about prayer and his answers pretty much became his talk.  Randy thought it was ridiculous that I wanted a sunbeam to memorize his talk but he totally did and gave his talk pretty much by himself.  I just held the pictures for him and, of course, gave moral support.  He was amazing!

I like to talk to Heavenly Father. When I say my prayers I fold my arms and close my eyes to show Heavenly Father I love Him.
I pray before I eat
So my body will be big and strong
When I lose something, Heavenly Father helps me find it.
Talking to Heavenly Father makes me happy.
